Weihao obtained his PhD in 2015 from Modern Physics Department at University of Science and Techniques of China. Later he held a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Brookhaven National Laboratory in US. And he got promoted to Physics Associate II in 2018. He joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao-Tong University in 2019.
Weihao is interested in the electronics system development for particle physics experiments, including application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design, high performance trigger and DAQ system development. He made major contribution to the FELIX and gFEX projects for ATLAS upgrade. Weihao also developed the DAQ system for HV-CMOS sensor testbeam experiment which can support much higher trigger rate than previous system. He also made contributions to the ITk Pixel and Strip Demonstrator readout system development for the ATLAS Phase II upgrade. During his PhD research, he developed a charge-to-time converter ASIC for readout of PhotoMultipliers in Water Cherenkov Detectors, and participated in development of the Digital Beam Position Measurement (DBPM) system for Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF).
